New Year, Growing Brand!

By 4th January 2019 No Comments

Now that we have our feet firmly on the ground of 2019 we’d like to share what the year has in store for us and you as guests!

January will see us say farewell to our incredibly talented and creative head chef Luke Gale as he embarks on his new adventures of opening up 2 of his very own restaurants. We’ll be wishing Luke all the luck in the world for his new journey and we’re sure he’ll do a cracking good job of it!

Taking lead of our Potager kitchen will be our new head chef David Smith. David has a wealth of knowledge about food, kitchen’s and everything chef-y. Keep a look out on our blog for some inside info on David in the next week or so!

So, with a change of head chef, comes a slight change of style. Over the next few months you’ll see our Potager Restaurant become home to some very new and exciting dishes that will still be incredibly tasty, just with a different twist – but we don’t want to give too much away, you’ll have to come and try it for yourself!

If you’ve visited our Potager Restaurant recently, you’ll have probably noticed that our Potager garden is taking shape. Albeit with tape and sticks, but the general layout is there. Tim has been working incredibly hard, through cold and rain, maintaining all of our wonderful grounds and he’s done a brilliant job of it too! Everything’s looking tidy and ready for when spring comes around. 2019 will see us focus predominantly on our Potager garden as our project for the year as we take a little breather from gargantuan projects, such as building 4 cottages and refurbishing a restaurant, all within 8 months. Besides, seeing as a 2 course lunch is just £15pp, there’s no excuse for you not to come and admire the progress of our Potager garden whilst treating yourself.

We gave our hotel some TLC in 2018 with brand new colours, Hypnos beds and lots of Lloyd’s creative flare, all of which has been greatly received by our guests! Our rooms are delightfully warm and ready to welcome everyone joining us over the next month or two to enjoy a relaxing break away. Whether it be for leisure or business, you’re guaranteed a restful stay! If you haven’t booked your winter escape yet check out our offers page here. We’d recommend our Cheeky Weekday Escape for those wanting to chase the January blues away!

Both the Cider House Kitchen and Cottages have received brilliant reviews from diners and guests and we were even lucky enough to have Susan Sarandon, Sam Neill, Mia Wasikowska and Bex Taylor-Klaus stay with us for 6 weeks in the Cottages whilst filming in West Wittering. Does this mean we’re famous now too? (probably not)

So here’s to 2019! New beginnings and another year to nurture and improve our growing brand – Crouchers Orchards.
