Easter in the City

By 23rd March 2016 No Comments
If you’re heading for the historic city of Chichester this Easter, you may like to consider taking a guided Chichester City Tour.

Chichester City Tours are run by a group of trained and experienced guides who invite you to explore the attractions of this lovely Cathedral city within the Roman Walls.

Did you know that the Guildhall (a much-loved landmark which stands in Chichester’s Priory Park) was the building in which British poet and artist William Blake was tried for treason? Or that the Pallant House Gallery of modern art is housed in a Grade 1 listed Queen Anne townhouse dating back to 1712?

As well as some interesting landmark buildings, Chichester is home to a number of hidden gems too. The Bishop’s Palace Garden is one such place. A stone’s throw from the Cathedral, this peaceful and beautifully maintained walled garden provides a haven of colourful plants and trees. Well worth a walk around!

Your guide will outline the history of some of the notable buildings in the four main streets of the city, and in some of the quieter side-roads too. The tour takes approximately 90 minutes and runs on Saturdays and Tuesdays (Easter Saturday included).

Tour tickets are £4.50 per head, and you can book by using the Standby Bookings Form on the Chichester City Tours website: www.chicitytours.co.uk

Alternatively, you can pick up your tickets on the day of the tour at the Novium Museum, Tower Street, Chichester PO19 1QH. Do this on Easter Saturday, and you can combine your tour with a visit to the Easter Bunny who’ll be appearing at the museum! (£5 per child including toy and chocolate).

We still have limited availability in our hotel, so why not make a weekend of it with a stay in one of Crouchers’ comfortable rooms? Our staff would love to welcome you .. check our Rooms pages for further details.

Have a very Happy Easter!
